”What on earth am I looking at?”
Perhaps this page needs a little explanation. The following are 4 image collages. I made a trip to the Coyote Buttes area of southern Utah/northern Arizona back in 2006. This area has amazing wind and water sculpted Navajo Sandstone rock formations. Along with shooting traditional landscapes on that trip, I shot a lot of detail/close-up images of the rock formations. Back at my computer and on a whim, I decided to see what patterns would be created by taking 1 image, duplicating it, flipping it over vertically and lining it up to it’s mirrored partner. I was intrigued...so I duplicated both of those images, flipped them both over horizontally and lined them up to their mirrored partners. I was amazed at the geometric patterns. I now had 4 puzzle pieces that could be assembled in 4 different combinations each producing a unique geometric pattern. As you look at this page, each row has 5 images. The first image in the row is the original shot of the rock formation as mother nature created it. The next 4 photos in that same row are the various combinations created from duplicating and combining that original. Enjoy in moderation and please no psychotropic drugs while veiwing these images. I can’t be responsible for what you may see! LOL
Please note all images on this page are shown in (3:2) aspect ratio, however they can look really interesting cropped to panoramas. To inquiry, shoot me an email through my contact page.
