My first photographic love was macro photography! I relish seeing details that are so easily missed while standing upright. Shooting macro images in nature is a “full contact sport” for me. I’m on my belly...I’m laying in mud...I’m swarmed by mosquitos...I’m out in rain and snow and I’m immune to almost all of it when I’m in pursuit. I really do loose track of time and I’m often able to ignore my body’s protests.
I also shoot still life florals at my studio in St. Paul. When making images there, I have natural and artificial light at my disposal (along with warmth, no rain and no mosquitos). I really enjoy working in both settings. I’m very fortunate to be able to do what I love!
